In short, they will develop a platform, leverage blockchain technology, and issue a native utility token – BolttCoin (BOLTT) – to bind and record transactional data using smart contracts on the WAVES and Ethereum blockchains. The platform will also have the capability for individuals and corporations to host challenges, games, and tournaments. Winners will be eligible to receive BOLTT tokens as a reward. In addition, gamification within the platform will encourage users to make social groups and challenges to their friends and family to co-participate.

I was worried about gaming the Proof of Walking system to mine BOLTT, but (through taking steps, jogging, running, or using the treadmill), but BOLTT has an answer for that as well. The steps will be tracked using Boltt wearables and/or integration with most smart accessories and apps for sports and activity tracking such as FitBit, Google Fit, Apple Watch, Apple Health Kit, etc. Data will be sent to Boltt and run through a data verification & security process by using an algorithm to detect cheating. If there is any doubt, steps will not be counted.
Even if Boltt can encourage a little physical activity from what people normally would do, and find ways to make them come back and keep up their activity, then I think Boltt should feel proud that they will have contributed positively toward a social issue.
Personally, I can’t wait to try Boltt out. I’m glad I stumbled across their ICO. Now, I just have to look for a new pair of running shoes 😊
